Itinerary

Day 1Fes → Middle Atlas → Merzouga Sahara (≈ 460 km)

Your private 4×4 picks you up from your Fes riad at 7:30–8:00 AM. We cross the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane (the “Swiss village” of Morocco), the cedar forests of Azrou (spot wild Barbary apes), and Midelt for lunch.

In the afternoon, the landscape turns dramatically into palm oases and fossil-dotted desert. Arrive in Merzouga around 5:00 PM, sip mint tea at a traditional kasbah, then mount your camel for the first magical ride into the dunes as the sun sets.

Reach your authentic Berber desert camp, enjoy a hearty dinner around the fire with live traditional music, and sleep in comfortable tents under a sky exploding with stars.

Day 2Full Day Camel Trek Deep Into Erg Chebbi

After an optional sunrise from the dune top, enjoy breakfast in the camp before setting off on a longer camel trek deeper into the Sahara.

Today is all about immersion:

Visit a nomadic Berber family and share tea in their tent
Picnic lunch in the shade of tamarisk trees
Learn how the desert people live with the rhythm of the dunes

In the late afternoon, arrive at your second camp – a luxury desert camp with private en-suite tents, hot showers, and proper beds. Dinner, more music, and another incredible night under the Milky Way.

Day 3Sahara Sunrise → Return to Fes (≈ 460 km)

Wake early for the unforgettable Sahara sunrise from the highest dune. After breakfast and a final camel ride back to civilization (or 4×4 option), begin the scenic journey back to Fes.

Stops include Rissani’s traditional market (if Thursday or Sunday) and the stunning Ziz Valley. Drop-off at your Fes riad around 7:00–8:00 PM.
