Every year thousands of travellers ask us the same question: “Is a day trip from Fes to Chefchaouen worth it?”
Our answer is always the same: YES — if you do it the right way.
Chefchaouen (also spelled Chaouen or simply “the Blue City”) is one of the most photogenic and peaceful towns in Morocco. Nestled in the Rif Mountains and painted in fifty shades of blue, it feels like stepping into a dream. At roughly 200 km (3–3.5 hours each way), a day trip from Fes is perfectly doable and remains one of our best-selling private excursions.
Why Do the Day Trip Privately (Here’s Why)
- Shared minibuses leave Fes at unpredictable times, cram 18 people inside, and give you only 3–4 hours in Chefchaouen.
- Private car or 4×4 = door-to-door service, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, photo stops whenever you want, and 5–6 full hours to explore the blue streets at your own pace.
