Check into your charming riad or dar in the heart of the medina. Afternoon at leisure to start exploring the blue alleys, visit the kasbah museum, or hike to the Spanish Mosque for sunset over the painted town.

A completely free day to fall in love with Chefchaouen at your own pace. Suggested activities:

• Wander endlessly through the cobalt and indigo streets
• Hike to Akchour waterfalls (easy 45-min drive – optional guided trek)
• Visit local artisan workshops (leather, wool weaving)
• Relax in hidden plazas with fresh orange juice
• Photograph the famous blue staircases and painted doors
